Geoff John confirm's two part "epic"
Today we have gotten confirmation from legendary comic writer, Geoff John that his next Smallville story will arrive in not one but two episodes. Glen Winter will be directing his first episode, "Society" while Tom Welling will be directing the second episode, "Legend". Here is what Geoff John had to say about his episodes:
geoffjohns0 yes, my "society" episode of smallville is actually an insane dcu infused two-part epic. Part i is "society" and part ii is "legends."
Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders made this happen. They wanted it to be HUGE and they wanted Hawkman, Dr. Fate and Stargirl done right.
Glen Winter is directing "Society" and Tom Welling is directing "Legends." They both brought so much to Legion.
The show producers wanted to make an epic two part episode and that Geoff Johns was happy to do it. We also can confirm some more episode titles for you:
* 9.10 Disciple
* 9.11 Society
* 9.12 Legends
* 9.13 Persuasion

it totally made my night last night when johns officially confirmed the rumor that was floating around earlier in the day. Cant wait to see how this all goes down.
ReplyDeletewas jsut reading on shh/ksite according to spoilertv we may be seeing amanda waller in jsa episodes for a role which could become a reacurring guest role.
ReplyDeleteGuys, News Ltd is reporting down here that the Justice League movie may be back on and shooting early next year in Sydney for a 2011 release????
ReplyDeletei seriously doubt that. From what it looks like presently from what we know they want to do the solo route now. But who really knows with dc films we have no clue what is happening with guys beside gl/hex/losers right now.
ReplyDeleteMan i cant wait to see when we get some story details coming out for the episodes. I would love if johns decides to keep fate/hawkman(and any other past jsa members who might get a mention) from the 1940s and are just slowly aging or something plot from the comics.
ReplyDelete'Smallville' scoop: Martian Manhunter returns!
ReplyDeleteby Michael Ausiello
Smallville’s upcoming Justice Society-themed two-parter has added another headliner. Exec producer Kelly Souders confirms that the highly anticipated eppys (titled “Society” and slated to air in early 2010) will mark the return of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter.Penned by comic book hero Geoff Johns, “Society” marks the arrival of Justice Society members Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Stargirl. The abundance of special guest stars is what prompted Souders and fellow showrunner Brian Peterson to expand the episode into two parts.
“To be honest, there were so many characters and so much great story that people would’ve been robbed of some great moments if we kept it to just one hour,” says Sounders. “So now that it’s a two-parter, you won’t miss anything.”
Check out this week’s Ask Ausiello for more details on “Society.” In the meantime, riddle me this: Are you more pumped for “Society” now that MM is on board? Sound off below!

I’ve got some big news for all my Super friends out there.
I’m hearing The CW has decided to package Smallville’s upcoming (and highly-anticipated) Justice Society-themed two-parter into a two-hour movie event airing on Jan. 29.
The Geoff Johns-penned episodes — titled “Society” and “Legends” and featuring such DC Comics stalwarts as Stargirl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate — were originally designed to air separately. But, according to Smallville insiders, CW execs felt they could get more mileage out of combining them.
I tend do agree. Do you? Sound off in the comments!
Oh, and if you thought this scoop was super, just wait. There’s another (even bigger) Smallville-related treat coming your way later today.
Now that sounds pretty promising wouldn't you guys say so?
