I think it's safe to say that most Smallville fans and comic book fans in general are eagerly anticipating Geoff John's next Smallville episode, "Society". Today IGN has confirmed that Michael Shanks (most known for his role on Stargate SG-1) will be playing the character, "Hawkman" in the episode and Brent Stait will be playing, "Doctor Fate". Finally Britt Irvin will be playing the character, "Stargirl".

i said this on other boards, i am a bit surprised wildcat who was the most budget friendly and costume friendly jsa not getting picked is odd. But pretty cool news still that it is carter hall/hawkman and kent nelson/dr fate joining Stargirl for JSA episode.
ReplyDeleteAs for michael shanks being carter hall, now that is sweet casting right there. He was one of my fav characters in SG1. So i cant wait to see how he pulls off the character.
Brent Stait as Dr. Fate he was in that other gene roddenberry scifi show for a few seasons. I saw a few episodes here and there during its run. Also i know he guest stared in various sg1/atlantis episodes. So i cant wait to see how he is as Dr. Fate.
As for Brit Irvin as stargirl, well she looks very cute looking. I havent seen any of her work. But i am sure she will do well. The character is very important to johns so he probably had a hand in the casting of the role.
Now i cant wait to see who/what is the threat of the episode. How the jsa members costumes and weapons will look. Also geoff on twitter a little while ago stated hawkman will have his mace and wings, and will have a grudge with green arrow. Also in other news Ksite reports Erica isnt in this episode. Though it sucks a bit. They probably did it to focus more on JSA.

additional spoiler on top of this two parter rumor. Looks like tom who was schedule to direct what was to be episode 12 persuation(spelling?) might be directing part two of society instead. Hmmm i wonder how this will turn out if true.

Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders made this happen. They wanted it to be HUGE and they wanted Hawkman, Dr. Fate and Stargirl done right.
